Which for me right now is just short of 1GB Sparseimage. I am not sure I can access the Daily Note in DevonThink on iOS and iPad without syncing the whole notes database. I downloaded WordService but takes a good couple of seconds to insert the timestamp and again there is no keyboard shortcut. My first thought was to import these emails into Devonthink Pro. It’s a Microsoft Exchange account, accessed through Apple Mail, and I have 18,000 emails in the account. I’m due to lose access to my previous employer’s email (a university), so I’ve been advised to download what I would like to keep. I downloaded CustomShortCuts, but it does not seem to read the DevonThink menu hierarchy correctly right now, so there is no way to create a shortcut for a simple time stamp. Hi there, First, thanks in advance for your help. A couple of times the image disappeared so I am not sure if the image is imported, If I did something wrong, or if pasting images directly to a note is supported or not. A powerful search language finds documents in an instant, smart groups keep. Many document formats can be directly viewed, edited, and annotated. It supports a large variety of file formats and stores them in a database enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI). It is not clear when images are pasted into the note from the clipboard. DEVONthink Pro is DEVONtechnologies' document and information management solution. Same with image this syntax works !], but !] this does not. ] - this maybe specific to Obsidian, but I thought it was basic MD. The pipe operator does not seem to be recognized e.g. And no keyboard shortcut for adding a web link. When I am in a note there is no keyboard shortcut for entering the time. If I select one or two emails to export, the plugin works well and imports the emails into Devonthink. I installed the Apple Mail plugin (following the instructions carefully), then tried to export the emails from Apple Mail using the plugin / export function (Add to DEVONthink 3). To replicate this in DevonThink I created a template for the Daily Note and attached it to the toolbar, but every time I press the button I get a popup asking me if I want to import or install. My first thought was to import these emails into Devonthink Pro. I then move that note into the Obsidian Note and update whatever wiki-links I need to update. As I go through the day I enter the time (toolbar click), and whatever text needs to be added. Right now that note is created and managed in Obsidian.Ī lot of what goes on the daily note is from a Drafts (App) document that is pinned on every device I have. That note documents people I talk to, what we talk about, what projects get moved forward and how, along with new discoveries. But basically every time we use the mouse to access something friction is introduced.Ī lot of my daily work is logged in a Daily Note. Friction is much more acceptable when we are writing longer pieces. And I am talking about logging the day, journaling. And I am not complaining just pointing out points of friction. I have been using DevonThink as a repository for over a decade, but have only attempted a couple of times to make it the main focus of my note taking. The script also opens two selected documents side-by-side and if you have a document with an associated annotation, the annotation will attempt to be located and opened with the original in side-by-side windows. Hopefully this comes in handy in ways I may not have even imagined!ĭEVONthink Pro and Pro Office owners, install the AppleScript directly within the application from Scripts > More Scripts.OK. This script allows me to do that with one window in Editing mode and the other in rendered mode. This is fine but for on-the-fly editing I wanted to edit and see it rendered side by side. However, the only way to see the rendered HTML is to switch the view (see View > Best Alternative). Another example is Markdown. I do like writing Markdown in DEVONthink. Perhaps, you want to open something you’re writing so you can edit in one window while looking at the document without the changes in the second window. The client wanted to view a PDF in two windows so he could look at different non-consecutive pages at the same time. So, about half an hour later, another custom AppleScript script was finished - one that would open the same document in two windows, placed side by side on the screen. That would work but it didn’t seem as elegant as I wanted it to be. The only other option is to view the document in its own window, as well as in the main database window. Out of the box, DEVONthink will open a document in a new window, but only one. I recently had a ticket from someone who wanted to open a document in two windows at once. And sometimes they rekindle old ones from the back burner. Support tickets sometimes present new ideas.
